Weight loss contest!

Lol like the title says, I’m having a sort of contest to see how much weight I can lose untill the day before I go back to school.

The contest part is, if anyone wants to, for shits and giggles, place beta on how much weight i’ll lose over the time. Whoever is closest will get a free gift from me! Lol a mystery gift too, so let’s play!

Ok, here are the rules: I work out every week, four days a week, eat right (thats hard for me cus I love food! Lol) and keep track of my measurements every other week. I can’t use any equipment at any gym and I can only workout at home (that’s hard for anyone lol).

I’ll post my measurements later lol

And if anyone else wants to lose weight and play along reblog with your measurements. But you have to follow the same rules ok? :)

Ready, and WORKOUT! Lol

Is freedom possible?

Freedom. What is it really? Dictionary.com defines it as:

1. the state of being free or at liberty rather than in confinement or under physical restraint: He won his freedom after a retrial. 2. exemption from external control, interference, regulation, etc. 3. the power to determine action without restraint.

In lamens terms; you can do whatever you want without being told what to do, how when and where to do it. But, to me, this doesn’t seem possible. Let me explain myself by asking a question: say you want a house, how do you get it? Well, sub, you pay for it. But, isn’t someone or quite a few someone’s telling you how much you can spend (your partner, your bank, your realistate agent), what area you can live in, how much the house costs, and so forth? So, even though you want this particular house you do not have the freedom or ability to get it. I should clarify that I’m talking souly on freedom to do what you want without being told to do it, as the word is defined above. Ability is another matter that, somehow, was and is never considered when using the word freedom.

Back to the example with the house. Say, somehow, you were able to get the house. You and your family have lived in it.for.quite a while. Suddenly, and realistically, your country is at war with another and for some reason your house is needed in the war effort. (note: this is a vary realistic event considering it happened in past wars where the government took control of land and homes that they “needed” no matter the desires of the previous owners.) Now, say you don’t want the military to shack up in your house, eating all your food and destroying all your posestions. Since you are “free” you are able to tell them to vacate and pay for your compensation, yes? No, sadly not. If the government deems it necisary, they are able to take your home, your car, and all of your posestions without compensation. Why? You have to ask?

What I am trying to say is that, no matter how pant wars are fought or rallys or protests held, freedom is a myth. There are always the rulers (queen/king of England, cheifs of tribes, presidents of companies, military’s) and there are always ruled (civilians). With this reality in place, where the rulers rule over the ruled, there will never realistically be equality amongst all humans. It is a pointless and endless battle for an ideal that can never have a basis in reality.

“Well, what about the equality amongst women and men or blacks and whites? If freedom and equality isn’t real, then why can all these people be treated differently than what they used to be?” Says the unconvinced reader.

My response is this; what about them? I can’t possibly tell you how many times I’ve heard a woman complain of being treated “like a woman”, how the world was “a man’s world” and so on and so forth. And I can’t possibly count how many times a black person complained of being discriminated against by a white person, or a white person being discriminated against by a black person. The same goes for the gays and lesbians, the Hispanics and other nationalities. Nothing has changed in the mind sets of the people.

Let me explain, before some of you call me uncouth names. If I point a gun at a white persons temple and shot them, would they die? Of course, no discrepancies there. But would a black person? How about a Mexican? Of course on all counts. We all would die, so in the mortal life-death contest we are all equal. Well, what about labor? Can a white person drive a cab the same as an Indian (to use the typical image, and as a note I’ve worked for a cab company that was owned and operated by a goridian, forgive the spelling, and I saw no difference in performance.) ? The answer is no, realistically neither possess a special ability to drive a cab more or less effective than the other.
Construction? Reception? Cooking? What about parenting? How is any one race, nationality, what have you, more or less effective than the other? We’re not. Now, are some more advanced or talented in some areas of study, yes. But, note that I said area of study. This means that extra work, concentration, effort and so forth went into knowing more in this particular area. That is when you begin to break up individuals even amongst the same group of nationals.

My point is, none of us are free from those that rule over us. We all have bills to pay, desires we can never hope to achieve, and jobs that we don’t always enjoy but need them in order to survive in our individual societies and cultures. If we all were free to do what we wished, money and bills would not exist. We would only have to rely on our family groups (not necisarily blood relations) and our own physical and mental abilities to survive the world and not our societies and cultures. Sadly, our current generations are too attached to what we have now and could not last vary long without what we have now.

I hope this brought some things to mind for some readers.

I don’t want someone who will love me with my imperfections. I want someone who will love me for my imperfections. Who doesn’t just see them as a part of me, but what makes me who I am.

Normality doesn’t exist in the same instance of individuality. If you want an individual, you’ve got one ;). If you want someone that’s normal, buy a clone of yourself. Watch your clone come to and for me first ;) lol
